TENCANPLANETARY BALL MILLS

Hard-alloy powder: an accepted planetary sample with D90 = 11.3 µm.

Hard-alloy powder: an accepted planetary sample with D90 = 11.3 µm. Meet a recorded 10–20 µm requirement.

Sample assessment

The feed was hard-alloy powder recorded as 50–100 mesh. Exact composition and the feed distribution were not supplied.

Analyst consideration: For hard-alloy powder, media wear and material deformation or fracture depend on the actual composition. The recorded D90 and jar temperature should therefore be evaluated alongside contamination and morphology requirements.

Recorded objective

Meet a recorded 10–20 µm requirement.

Equipment and selection

The machine entry is QXQM. TENCAN Laboratory Full-Directional Planetary Ball Mill is associated at the recorded series level. A horizontal operating mode, where mentioned, does not change the recorded QXQM family into WXQM.

Test setup

Jar entryHard alloy jar
Media entryHard alloy balls
Media-charge notationStandard charge; individual specification not recorded
Sample-load entry300g
Controller speed setting400
Cycle notation5/1

Unlabelled jar, media and load numbers remain source notation, not assigned units. Controller settings are not certified rpm. The cycle notation has no independently stated timing unit or reversing definition.

Recorded procedure and results

The QXQM trial used a hard-alloy jar and hard-alloy media. A 300 g charge was dry milled at setting 400. At 280 minutes the inside-jar temperature was 68 °C and the sampled distribution had D90 = 11.3 µm. The result is explicitly marked accepted.

Interpretation

The final D90 is the specific measured endpoint and lies within the numerical target interval. It is not an all-particle range or a purity result. The 68 °C reading is relevant process evidence rather than proof of temperature control.

Practical precautions

Confirm the exact hard-alloy composition and temperature limit. Record the standard media charge in explicit dimensions and masses before repeating the accepted 280-minute test.

TENCAN alternatives to evaluate

TENCAN Vertical square planetary ball mill. A conventional vertical platform can compare the hard-alloy powder with the same tooling and 280-minute endpoint. Measure inside-jar temperature and D90 under matched loading. A conventional vertical platform omits QXQM assembly tumbling, providing a focused comparison of redistribution when the same hard-alloy contact materials and load are retained. This is an untested comparison proposal, not a result of this trial.

Association follows the explicit QXQM source entry; only recorded tested series/configurations are related. No jar-volume inference.
