Sample assessment
The iron-based powder uses a 10:1 ball-to-powder ratio. Internal and external jar temperatures are separately reported and should remain separate selection variables. The laboratory test record documents this preparation only; applying the method to another batch requires a matched trial.
Recorded objective
Measure temperatures inside and outside the jar at 2, 4 and 6 hours.
Equipment and selection
The recorded planetary machine is QXQM. The corresponding TENCAN family is the Laboratory Full-Directional Planetary Ball Mill. The jar volume identifies the test container and does not establish an exact machine variant or production capacity. Equipment association follows the recorded machine designation.
Test setup
| Recorded planetary machine | QXQM |
|---|---|
| Documented setup | 500 mL stainless-steel vacuum jar; 1500 g steel balls; 150 g powder; ball-to-powder mass ratio 10:1; dry milling; speed setting 350; QXQM machine. |
| Recorded operating cycle | Run 5 / pause 1; units not stated in mode field |
Speed values are reproduced as recorded settings. A rotational unit and planetary-disc versus jar-speed basis are not stated, so these numbers are not labelled rpm.
Recorded procedure and results
At 2 hours, the recorded jar-outside temperature was 40.6 °C and the inside temperature was 43 °C. At 4 hours, outside was 36.1 °C and inside was 42 °C. At 6 hours, outside was 38.3 °C and inside was 44 °C. The procedure does not state an evacuation or gas-filling step, despite the vacuum-jar designation.
Interpretation
The record provides the requested three thermal observations, with the internal readings higher than the external readings at each time. It does not identify a continuous maximum temperature or prove that the vacuum jar was operated under vacuum.
Practical precautions
Record probe location, calibration and the delay between stopping and reading. Treat jar construction and actual atmosphere as separate fields, and do not use the outside readings as a substitute for the inside temperature.
TENCAN alternatives to evaluate
For follow-up comparison, consider the TENCAN Vertical square planetary ball mill. For iron-based powder, a matched vertical XQM trial can test whether conventional orientation preserves the internal versus external temperature difference for this iron powder. Retain the same sample and media. This is a proposed comparison; the test record does not demonstrate a superior result for that alternative. Confirm jar compatibility and the permitted complete loaded mass before selecting a configuration.
Procedure records QXQM; related product is the corresponding tested machine family. Exact variant is not inferred from jar size.
