TENCANPLANETARY BALL MILLS

Pigment planetary trial meeting a nonadhesion objective.

Pigment planetary trial meeting a nonadhesion objective. Avoid adhesion to the balls and jar wall.

Sample assessment

The material was a pigment powder with no further chemical identity supplied. Its color, binder content and initial particle-size distribution were not recorded.

Analyst consideration: Because nonadhesion is the actual objective, recovered deposits on balls and wall are more informative here than an assumed size reduction. Pigment color or dispersion quality would require separate assessment.

Recorded objective

Avoid adhesion to the balls and jar wall.

Equipment and selection

The machine entry is XQM-1. TENCAN Vertical square planetary ball mill is associated at the recorded series level. No exact housing variant is inferred from jar capacity or an abbreviated machine label.

Test setup

Jar entryZirconia 250
Media entryZirconia
Media-charge notation70/80/100
Sample-load entryNot recorded
Controller speed setting460
Cycle notation5/1

Unlabelled jar, media and load numbers remain source notation, not assigned units. Controller settings are not certified rpm. The cycle notation has no independently stated timing unit or reversing definition.

Recorded procedure and results

The trial used a zirconia jar with zirconia media. At five minutes the material did not adhere to either the balls or the jar wall. The one-hour observation again records no adhesion to either surface. The duration field is written as 1:05, without clarifying whether it totals the two checks.

Interpretation

The favorable result directly addresses the stated nonadhesion objective. It provides no particle-size or color-strength measurement, so the report does not treat free movement as proof of fine grinding or pigment performance.

Practical precautions

Inspect both media and wall during repeat work and record recovered mass. Preserve the two observation times separately until the meaning of the duration entry has been confirmed.

TENCAN alternatives to evaluate

TENCAN Laboratory Full-Directional Planetary Ball Mill. Assembly tumbling can be evaluated for pigment movement if another formulation shows adhesion. The present one-hour nonadhesion outcome does not establish a need to change the successful setup. QXQM tumbling reorients the bed relative to gravity, allowing a focused comparison of where pigment accumulates on the wall and media. This is an untested comparison proposal, not a result of this trial.

Association follows the explicit XQM-1 source entry; only recorded tested series/configurations are related. No jar-volume inference.
