Sample assessment
The sample was pseudoboehmite. Its feed field gives 20 µm, while the procedure separately records an initial size of 23 µm; both descriptions are retained.
Analyst consideration: For pseudoboehmite, wet agglomerate breakup and primary-particle fragmentation may contribute differently to the measured refinement. A repeat should assess suspension condition and distribution rather than infer a mechanism from time alone.
Recorded objective
Meet the stated 1 µm requirement.
Equipment and selection
The machine entry is QXQM. TENCAN Laboratory Full-Directional Planetary Ball Mill is associated at the recorded series level. A horizontal operating mode, where mentioned, does not change the recorded QXQM family into WXQM.
Test setup
| Jar entry | Corundum250 |
|---|---|
| Media entry | Zirconia balls300 |
| Media-charge notation | small balls Standard charge; individual specification not recorded |
| Sample-load entry | 28 (unit not stated) |
| Controller speed setting | 290 |
| Cycle notation | 5/1 |
Unlabelled jar, media and load numbers remain source notation, not assigned units. Controller settings are not certified rpm. The cycle notation has no independently stated timing unit or reversing definition.
Recorded procedure and results
A QXQM machine, corundum jar and zirconia media were recorded. Water, 70 g, was added. The reported sizes were 4 µm after one hour, 2 µm after two hours, 1.5 µm after four hours and 1 µm after eight hours. The result field explicitly marks acceptance.
Interpretation
The sequence shows continued refinement at the recorded checks. It does not supply a size percentile, all-particle maximum or analytical preparation method. The difference between the two feed descriptions is not resolved by choosing only one.
Practical precautions
Confirm the initial measurement and final acceptance statistic. Record suspension condition and recovered mass at later times before applying the eight-hour sequence to another pseudoboehmite grade.
TENCAN alternatives to evaluate
TENCAN Vertical square planetary ball mill. A conventional vertical planetary comparison can retain the pseudoboehmite time series and 70 g water addition. Match media loading and initial measurement before comparing with QXQM. A conventional vertical platform provides a comparison without QXQM assembly tumbling, allowing the role of bed redistribution to be assessed while retaining the wet charge and time series. This is an untested comparison proposal, not a result of this trial.
Association follows the explicit QXQM source entry; only recorded tested series/configurations are related. No jar-volume inference.
