Sample assessment
The source identifies coal together with alcohol. The procedure expressly includes size preparation before planetary milling, without specifying an alcohol amount.
Analyst consideration: For coal, the below-5-mm pre-crushing step defines the material presented to the planetary stage. Recovery, distribution and any intended compositional analysis should be considered separately from the short mesh result.
Recorded objective
Observe milling behavior and obtain a useful finer product; no separate numerical target was entered.
Equipment and selection
The machine entry is XQM. TENCAN Vertical square planetary ball mill is associated at the recorded series level. No exact housing variant is inferred from jar capacity or an abbreviated machine label.
Test setup
| Jar entry | Steel 500 |
|---|---|
| Media entry | Steel 875 |
| Media-charge notation | 20-125/15-290/12-440/8-35 |
| Sample-load entry | 120 (unit not stated) |
| Controller speed setting | 550 |
| Cycle notation | 5/1 |
Unlabelled jar, media and load numbers remain source notation, not assigned units. Controller settings are not certified rpm. The cycle notation has no independently stated timing unit or reversing definition.
Recorded procedure and results
The coal was first crushed to below 5 mm. Steel jar and steel media were recorded for the planetary stage. After twenty minutes of milling the procedure records passage through 100 mesh. No pre-crusher operating conditions, passing percentage or particle-size distribution were supplied.
Interpretation
The favorable mesh observation is attributable to the recorded planetary stage after pre-crushing. It is not evidence that the mill accepted unrestricted lump coal or that pre-crushing alone produced the endpoint. Mesh remains unconverted without a sieve standard.
Practical precautions
Keep the below-5-mm preparation boundary in any repeat method. Confirm liquid quantity, material compatibility and the sieve procedure before comparing another coal sample.
TENCAN alternatives to evaluate
TENCAN Horizontal light-duty ball mill. A horizontal planetary arrangement can be compared for the prepared coal fraction. Keep the below-5-mm feed boundary and twenty-minute sieve observation unchanged. A horizontal arrangement changes gravity relative to jar motion and therefore offers a defined comparison of the prepared granular coal and media circulation. This is an untested comparison proposal, not a result of this trial.
Association follows the explicit XQM source entry; only recorded tested series/configurations are related. No jar-volume inference.
